Sermon on Acts 8:1b-25
Philip preaches to the Samaritans and Simon the Magician believes. Peter and John visit Samaria to pray they might receive the Holy Spirit and Simon offers to pay them for this power. He is rebuked for having a heart that is not right with God.
Simon shows us how we can becomes consumers of the faith. We seek to use God for our own benefit, in an effort to gain power, wealth, or prosperity. But God wants to transform our hearts, to make us new creations that seek to glorify Him at the expense of ourselves.
