Sacred Sexuality: Captivated and Consumed

May 17, 2026    Tim Wilmetti

In Matthew 5:27–30 Jesus presses beyond outward sexual behavior and confronts the hidden desires of the heart. This message explores how lust can quietly shape our thoughts, habits, relationships, and view of others, especially in a culture where pornography and sexualized content are increasingly normalized. Rather than presenting God’s commands as restrictive, this sermon shows how Jesus’ teaching protects human dignity, strengthens love, and calls us toward a better vision of sexual holiness. It also offers hope for those carrying guilt or shame, reminding us that Christ offers both grace for our failures and power to walk in freedom.
