Word Made Flesh: Perfect Priest

Jesus didn't just come to teach us or inspire us—He came to be the bridge between humanity and God. Drawing from Hebrews 4:14–5:10, we discover why it was essential for Jesus to become fully human in order to serve as our high priest. Because He lived as one of us, He intimately knows our struggles and temptations. Because He lived without sin, He could offer the perfect sacrifice we could never provide. And because God appointed Him, we can approach the throne of grace with complete confidence, knowing that our representative both understands our weakness and has the authority to bring us into God's presence. This Advent season, we're reminded that the baby in the manger grew up to become the priest we desperately needed—someone who doesn't just sympathize from heaven but stands beside us, advocating for us before the Father.
