PRAYER GUIDE FOR PATASKALA GRACE CHURCH’S CAMBODIA MISSION TEAM

Jen Rollins, Holly McQueen, Quinn Stout, and Marty Hart will be traveling to Battambang, Cambodia from September 17–29 to visit and encourage missionaries serving with Roots of Grace and Cambodia Ministry Partners. This is a meaningful opportunity for our church to support them through prayer as they work alongside these ministries and seek to be a blessing to the people of Cambodia.

September 17–18: Travel to Cambodia
Prayer Focus
:
  • Pray for safe travels as the team departs from Columbus, with layovers in Detroit and Seoul before arriving in Phnom Penh.
  • Ask for smooth connections and rest during their long journey, so they arrive refreshed and ready for the mission ahead.
  • Pray for the families of Jen, Holly, Quinn, and Marty as they remain at home, asking God to give them peace and strength while their loved ones are away.

September 19: Visiting Toul Sleng, Choeung Ek, and Dorm Ministry
Prayer Focus:
  • Pray for the team as they visit the Toul Sleng Genocide Museum and Choeung Ek, sites reflecting Cambodia’s painful history. Ask God to give them compassion and understanding as they reflect on this nation's past.
  • Pray for their meeting with Beth M., a missionary working in a dorm ministry in Phnom Penh. Ask God to bless their time together, strengthen Beth in her ministry, and provide opportunities for encouragement and connection.

September 20: Travel to Battambang and Prayer Walk
Prayer Focus:
  • Pray for safe travel as the team journeys from Phnom Penh to Battambang.
  • Lift up their prayer walk through Battambang, asking God to open their eyes to the needs of the city and to prepare the hearts of those they will meet.
  • Pray that God will move through their prayers to bring transformation and hope to the community.

September 21: Touring Battambang and Visiting Mission Partners
Prayer Focus:
  • Pray for the team as they tour Battambang and learn more about the area they’ll be serving in.
  • Ask God to bless their time visiting the Roots of Grace facilities, that they would be able to encourage the missionaries and staff.
  • Pray for their conversations to be full of grace, and that they would be a source of refreshment to the workers.

September 22: Visiting YWAM Church, Village Church, and Grace Church
Prayer Focus:
  • Pray for the team as they visit YWAM Church and the village church in Svay Sa, asking God to move powerfully in those congregations.
  • Pray for the partnership with Cambodia Ministry Partners, that the team’s visit would strengthen relationships and provide support for the ministry.
  • Ask God to bless the churches they visit and that the team would be an encouragement to local believers.

September 23: Ministering with Roots of Grace Cambodia
Prayer Focus:
  • Pray for the team as they minister alongside Roots of Grace in staff and village Bible studies. Ask for deep spiritual impact on both the team and the people they meet.
  • Pray for their work in the CMP English class in the evening, asking for effective communication and the building of strong relationships through language learning.
  • Lift up the Roots of Grace staff, asking God to empower their ministry and deepen their faith.

September 24: Bright Start Preschool and Assisting the Norris Family
Prayer Focus:

Pray for the team as they work with Bright Start Preschool and Roots of Grace, helping to bring joy and support to the children and staff.
Pray for Peter and Amber Norris as they prepare to move from Battambang to Phnom Penh. Ask for smooth logistics and peace during the transition, and for the team to be a blessing as they assist in the move.

September 25: Worship and Ministry with Roots of Grace Cambodia
Prayer Focus:
  • Pray for a fruitful day spent with Roots of Grace, that the team’s presence would encourage and strengthen the missionaries and staff.
  • Ask for meaningful worship at YWAM Church, that the Holy Spirit would be present and moving in both the team and the congregation.

September 26: Ministry and Travel to Siem Reap
Prayer Focus:
  • Pray for the team as they continue their work with Roots of Grace, especially during the kid pickup and staff Bible study.
  • Ask God to give them traveling mercies as they journey to Siem Reap, preparing them for the next part of their trip.

September 27: Exploring Angkor Wat and Fellowship
Prayer Focus:
  • Pray for the team as they explore Angkor Wat, one of Cambodia’s most significant cultural and historical landmarks. Ask God to give them a sense of His presence in the midst of the spiritual darkness that pervades much of Cambodia, where Buddhism and other spiritual practices are deeply rooted.
  • Pray for protection against any spiritual opposition and that the team would be reminded of the power of the gospel to bring light into dark places.
  • Ask for moments of deep fellowship as they spend the day with missionaries, building strong relationships that will last beyond this trip.

September 28–29: Travel Back to the U.S.
Prayer Focus:
  • Pray for safe and smooth travels as the team makes their way back from Phnom Penh to Columbus.
  • Pray that the experiences they’ve had will leave a lasting impact on their hearts and lives.
  • Ask God to give them strength and boldness to share what they’ve learned with others, connecting more people to the gospel.

Additional Prayer Points
For Jen, Holly, Quinn, and Marty: Pray for their health, energy, and spiritual growth as they serve in Cambodia. Ask God to work through them and provide opportunities to share the gospel.
For their families: Pray for peace and comfort while their loved ones are away, and for the team to return safely and strengthened in faith.
For those they will interact with: Ask God to open hearts and provide meaningful connections with the people of Cambodia.
For Roots of Grace Cambodia and Cambodia Ministry Partners: Pray for their continued strength and effectiveness in ministry, and that the team’s visit would bring encouragement and support to their work.
For opportunities to connect others to the gospel: Pray for divine appointments and boldness to share the love of Christ with those they meet, both in Cambodia and upon their return.
